Looking for invasive Pterois, aka Lionfish, on a Belizean reef for a story with @delikathessen. The poisonous Lionfish is native to the Indo-Pacific and is suspected to have been released into the Caribbean by aquarium owners. They lay thousands of eggs every few days, have no natural predators and are totally devastating local fish populations. They are thriving from the Delaware bay to the coast of Venezuela. Finding them was easy, hunting them was fun, and eating them was tasty. Now we just need to train some of the other species released by Floridians to kill them. http://ift.tt/1Gcl3kb
